What Is a Holiday Tour?
To travel means to have a new experience. It is always a way to see a new country or just a place with your own eyes. When you read about a place you feel as if you are there but this is just in your imagination. But now, the developed transport gives you the wonderful chance to go wherever you desire. The new places you see, the people you meet, the customs and traditions you acknowledge, the traditional cuisine you try-this is only a little part of all the entertainments that a holiday tour can provide you.
A holiday tour is usually a tour, which is done during the weekend or during holiday seasons. In fact, it does not matter when the tour is done, it depends on the tourists and when they will have free time. The idea of the holiday tour is to show you as much as possible from the other cities, countries, famous historical places, etc. And at the same time, it helps you overcome your daily problems and stress as providing you a great comfort during travel and a calm and relaxing holiday.
Most of people decide to go on holiday tours because they are curious to see new places and to gather information about them. As you probably know, there is a travel guide that will be always next to you and will tell you much about the places you pass by or visit. If you are interested in that, this information will be very useful to you. The travel guide will also lead you to the most interesting and famous landmarks in a given city. You will be able to see many monuments, famous houses, parliaments, cultural buildings, museums, etc. The guide will answer to all your questions and will tell you much about the history and culture of the place and its population.
The Lost City Of Gold
Merong Maha Wangsa was the founding administrator of the lost city of Langkasuka, but sorting out myth from history leaves us wondering how it is possible for such little evidence to remain for the existence of a city of gold in the Malay peninsular.
Sometime between the 100 and 300 AD Merong Maha Wangsa decided to create a link between the two current superpowers of his day, Rome and China and in selecting the Malay peninsular as the location for his power play he cornered all trade from the lucrative silk route between Arabia, Sri Langka and India and China. He persuaded Rome to give him a Roman prince and China to provide a princess. He then brought them to Kedah to get married, sailing in a large fleet. In those days trade with China didn’t risk the Malacca straights but passed through the Malay peninsular by raft and elephant to Pattani (now Thailand). The marriage created Langkasuka, a Kingdom stretching from approximately Kuala Lumpur to Southern Thailand. Not only did it control all trade, (a little like Suez), but had its own sources of gold from several rivers, leading Ptolemy to describe it as the golden land.
There is also a myth surrounding the founding of Langkasuka. It concerns a Garuda (a mythical half human half eagle) attacking the prince’s fleet. Could the Garuda be a local warlord who needed to stop the union to prevent the loss of his power base, or was it an old fashioned act of piracy, or was the whole story of the founding of Langkasuka an invention?
Green Travel
Offsetting your carbon footprint while traveling can be a difficult feat to manage. But nowadays, as companies and the general public become more and more informed, green travel can become a reality. Here’s a quick guide to small things you can do to make your trip less harsh on the environment.
First, utilize public transportation. That big smelly bus that is motoring down Fifth Avenue may look like an awful polluter. But it’s actually better to ride on that thing than your very own personal taxi. Until cities like New York and Chicago pass laws to require all taxi cab companies use hybrid vehicles, traveling on buses and trains will leave the least carbon footprint. It’s also a great way to meet and watch the locals in action. Buses are fantastic modes of transport for tourists, especially in foreign countries. It is also a great way to get around safely and economically. You also won’t get lost as easily as when you rent a rental car!
Second, reuse your sheets and towels. Nearly every hotel on the planet has installed those information cards that inform you of this. Reusing the same linens for your entire stay greatly reduces the effect on the environment. And why is it that 90 percent of us at home will sleep on our sheets for weeks at a time, but then can’t go two nights in a hotel?
Third, pick your hotel accordingly. Believe it or not, there are lists available that score the ‘greenness’ of hotels. Find this list or one like it online before you book and stay with the confidence that the institution you are giving your money to has the environment on your mind as much as you do.
Travel Through Thailand
It is no wonder that millions of people from all over the world flock to Thailand each year or that this Southeast Asian paradise is a popular business convention destination. With a mild year-round temperature, gorgeous beaches, budget-friendly prices, hospitable people, and delicious food, Thailand is a treat for any traveler. Tourism is a crucial part of Thailand’s economy, and while there are throngs of visitors, you can still find the solitude to enjoy a stretch of white sandy beaches or to enjoy a plate of authentic som tam. The tourist bureau’s motto is, “Amazing Thailand, Amazing Value.” How right they are.
There is a lot to see, do, and eat in Thailand, and the diversity of the attractions will astonish any first-time visitor. From diving through incredible underwater vistas and walking along the sandy beaches to visiting Buddhist temples and World Heritage sites, your Thai vacation will be filled with unforgettable sights, sounds, and smells. An experience not to be missed: visit the wonderful floating market at Damnoen Saduak. You will find vendors selling fruits, vegetables, and much more from sturdy canoes. The spectacle itself is visually stunning, and there is nothing like haggling to liven up your vacation!
Many of Thailand’s most treasured attractions are outdoors – the beaches, walks to Buddhist temples, markets – and the weather will play a role in your vacation as well. Thailand has a tropical savannah climate, which means it is typically very warm all year. There is a pronounced dry season. The southern and eastern portions of the country have a tropical monsoon climate.
Short Breaks on Phuket
Phuket is an hour away from Bangkok’s international airport and Singapore, so is an ideal place to unwind after a business trip. You can let your hair down in Patong and have a massage almost everywhere on the island. Phuket is a little more sophisticated than Patong, but of course it’s busy, and hectic with people who want to shop. It has an island atmosphere, so the pace of life is much more relaxed than in Singapore or Bangkok, making it a good get-away. The beaches are wonderful and there’s a huge choice of water sports, or small bays where you can just laze on the beach more or less away from it all, even in high season.
There is a great night life scene and this ranges from having an extended dinner with a choice of cuisines, Thai, Japanese, Indian or Pakistani and Malay. Seafood is a good choice as it is generally very fresh and there are various delicacies to tempt your palate. You can go to a cabaret featuring the Ladyboys and marvel at their beauty and talent, or go clubbing or to a disco, (just remember that the hostesses who sit with you will need to be paid at some time whether in drinks or in cash).
A few days on the island can be just what you need before that long trip home to what may be winter, so make the most of your time and relax on the beach with some of the more succulent fruit the island has to offer, juicy mangoes which you can just roll between your palms, squeeze a little and make a hole in the skin and suck out the nectar; or the more exotic mangosteens and rambutans which you peel like a lychee to get at the white fruit inside. You should also try durian, which you may or may not acquire a taste for. An ‘exotic’ fruit cocktail is readily available at the myriad café-bars and restaurants, and juices are available on the roads as well as Thai versions of fast-food.
Passport Safety Tips
Our passports are important travel documents and we could also use them as a form of identification apart from traveling.
These documents carry personal information about us. It carries our legal names, the color of our eyes, a number that is unique to us, that is, our passport number and other information along this line. Therefore, it is for our best interests when we keep them safe.
Some countries recognise dual citizenship and when this occurs, if we apply and are granted this privilege, we would then be the owner of two of these documents. In this case, we need to be even more careful. Additionally, they usually come with an expiry date and when they expire, although we could no longer use them to travel with, they are still very important.
Therefore, we still need to keep them safe because by the time they expired, they may be filled with numerous stamps of places in which we had traveled. Therefore, keeping the information out of the hands of unscrupulous people is very important.
Protected Location
At home, we could store them in a location in which untrustworthy persons do not know about. Additionally, storing them in a location that does not become damp and water does not easily get in, would also be in order.
When traveling, some people choose to walk from sightseeing place to sightseeing place with it in their bags etc. instead of leaving it at their accommodations. We also need to protect them when traveling.
Report Lost
If for some reason they get lost, it is not a good idea to put off reporting it to the immigration department. We should report it right away.
Top 3 Dollar Movie Theaters In Denver
There are a large number of theaters in Denver. Unfortunately, movie ticket prices have skyrocketed over time so sometimes it’s nice to have a night out on the movies without selling off your firstborn. The traditional Denver dollar theaters are a nice solution to be able to have a movie date for 2 for under $20. Usually the “dollar” theaters show later run movies for as little as $2.50 for a matinee. There are only a few of these low cost theaters in the Denver Metro area. So where can a Denverite go to enjoy a cheap movie?
1. Elvis Cinemas Tiffany Plaza
Elvis Cinemas Tiffany Plaza, also known as Tiffany Plaza Movies 6 is located on Tamarac and East Hampden Ave. The movies are $2.50 to watch main stream popular movies during matinee and $3.50 during prime time. The movies aren’t the latest releases, however they are a month or two behind the latest releases. There isn’t stadium seating, as well as high end digital sound, so you won’t have the same movie experience as you would in the latest AMC theater joint. This theater also isn’t the cleanest out there and the ambient noise is a bit louder than your mainstream theaters, but it certainly is a cheap date night… especially if you sneak in your own snacks, however with the concession prices being so low, it really isn’t worth the effort.
2. Elvis Cinemas Littleton
This is an older theater located just off of Kipling and Bowles. Unlike the mainstream theaters, and you purchase your tickets at the concession stand along with your snacks, but the price for tickets and snacks is also very affordable. The price for tickets is $2.50 for a matinee and $3.50 for primetime. The concessions are very reasonable as well and for this theater, a night for 2 can easily be under $20.
Top Tips for Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking
The majestic Mount Kilimanjaro is an iconic image of Africa and a transcendent trekking experience. From the sweeping panoramas of plains and forests viewable around its base, to the sublime experience of watching the sunrise from its summit (5,892 metres above sea level), a Kilimanjaro trekking holiday gives adventurous spirits a view of the world’s vastness and splendour. It is also, of course, one of the greatest physical challenges you can set yourself. In order to enjoy the grandeur of the landscape you first need to respect that landscape, understand the ways in which it will stretch you, and prepare accordingly. Before going, make sure you are familiar with these tips and you will be sure to get the most out of your adventure.
Which route?
Consider which route is best for you. Approaching from the south, the popular Marangu Route is well-worn and can be undertaken more quickly than others. Its popularity also means plentiful conveniences and busy paths, however, which will appeal to some visitors and not others. An attractive alternative is the Lemosho route, ascending from the west. This is a less-travelled and thus more intact Kilimanjaro trekking option, which takes longer than some of the others but accordingly makes acclimatisation more natural. Plus, taking the slower Lemosho route not only allows you to pace yourself, but offers some of the most picturesque natural beauty on the mountain; you’ll travel through wildlife-rich forests and enjoy the stunning vistas offered by the Shira Plateau before ascending to the summit.
