Writing a research paper is always a headache to most students. The process is difficult and time-consuming but in order to get the desired A, you really need a lot of hard work. Writing a good research depends on how well college students can formulate a good working research question. Knowing how to write a research question is not only reflective of good writing skills but how students can think in research terms. However, the best thing about writing a research paper is that it helps improve one’s writing skills and aids in developing ideas and to think logically.

Luxury Safari

“Luxury safari” seems a contradiction, since “safari” means going out in wild nature, exposed to what Nature has on offer, watching wild animals in their natural environment, whereas “luxury” implies the best of what modern man has become accustomed to. In Madikwe Game Reserve in the Northwest-Province of South Africa a combination of “luxury” and “safari” is what is on offer – as a matter of fact, your holiday in this reserve is all about “luxury safari”.

On the “luxury” side Madikwe has at least 14 safari lodges throughout the reserve with the highest rating possible: Five Star. And they live up to their rating – no question about that! Some are small and exclusive, hosting 15 guests or less; others can host op to 25 guests and a few go beyond that, hosting 50 – 200 guests. Generally speaking, every safari lodge consists of a central lodge with a number of private, totally separate thatched units in the camp.

Each of these units has luxury written all over it. These units ooze a typical African ambiance, but with all the facilities you can expect from a Five Star facility. Each unit also boasts a private deck overlooking a river or a water pool where game gather; each deck also has a plunge pool. The main lodge is where meals are served and where guests can cool off in a big swimming pool. All of the lodges have a “Boma” – a protected area in the bush where guests can enjoy their meals surrounded by the true African night sounds and clear African skies.

Most of the lodges also offer spa and wellness treatments; some even have wellness centers where guests can be rejuvenated and get relief from the stress associated with modern way of living. A wide variety of treatments are available, where qualified therapists introduce guests to age-old African therapies nowhere else available.

Enter the Great Outdoors

The family vacation is a pendulum. Back in the 1980s many families would take to the road and campout. In the 1990s and 2000s hotels and elite resorts were popular. From all inclusive vacations to overseas excursions, travelers were searching for opulence and luxurious vacations. But now is the time where people are choosing to explore the great outdoors and go camping. Camping doesn’t mean that you have to sleep on the ground while forest creatures eat your food. Camping can be as primitive or as posh as you want.

And don’t think sleeping under the stars means you literally have to sleep outside. Tents are an economical way to enjoy camping, while sleeping out of the elements.

RVs aren’t just for grandparents anymore. These vehicles are the ultimate in travelling luxury. From Blu Ray Players to customized leather seats, friends and family will travel in great opulence while reaching their destination. RVs are equipped with kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms. No more close quarters, in RVs when you tire of your companion’s music, just head back to the bedroom and shut the door. Leave them to their music and the highway.

If purchasing a trailer or recreational vehicle is out of your price range, consider renting. Grab your buddies and head to the homecoming game at your alma mater in a rented motor home. Then, just return it after your weekend getaway and you have succeeded in obtaining economical access to fun on the go. Enjoy the benefits of having a recreational vehicle without having to pay the loan, monthly insurance and storage fees.

Cooking, cleaning and hiking supplies are all available from the world’s best companies. If you’re not sure on an item, call their outstanding customer service team or visit them in person. These dedicated professionals want to be sure you are prepared to hit the road.

Kings Mountain State Park

Kings Mountain State Park, near Blacksburg, South Carolina, is a favorite destination with visitors to the Upcountry. The park is located near the border with North Carolina and is adjacent to Kings Mountain National Military Park, site of an important Revolutionary War battle. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) in the 1930s, Kings Mountain State Park encompasses 6,885 acres. Many of the park’s original facilities are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

One of the park’s most popular features is the Living History Farm. This is a replica of a yeoman farm typical of those found in the South Carolina Piedmont in the early to mid 1800s. The farm buildings include the farmhouse, barn, smokehouse, and blacksmith shop. A farm of this type would have grown cotton as a cash crop, and there is a cotton gin onsite. The exhibit also includes live farm animals.

Kings Mountain State Park contains miles of trails. A short 1.5 mile nature trail begins at the picnic area. This easy loop trail with interpretive signs is suitable for all ages. For more adventurous hikers, there is a moderately difficult 16 mile loop trail that crosses over into the National Military Park. This gives visitors the opportunity to learn some of the history of the area. Hikers may observe wildlife such as deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, and other birds. The Ridgeline Trail connects Kings Mountain State Park with Crowders Mountain State Park over the border in North Carolina. There are also twenty miles of equestrian trails at Kings Mountain. These trails connect to the equestrian trails in the national park. The trails range from easy to moderate in difficulty. There is a primitive equestrian campsite which has water and privy toilets.

Backpacking Alone

Backpacking alone is never a recommended activity. It increases exponentially the chances that something will happen to you which could prove fatal. That said, if you insist on backpacking alone, there are a number of precautions that you should take in order to make sure that you are as safe as possible on your trip:

1. Make Sure You Have a Means of Communication

This is a good idea regardless of whether you are backpacking alone or with a partner or group. However, when you are doing it alone, it is no longer an option but a vital necessity. You must be able to call for help in case of emergencies since there will be no one else around to help you in case you are hurt. Even this of course is not a foolproof system since you could be knocked out cold, however having some means of communication minimizes the danger.

2. Make Sure Someone Knows Where You Are and When You Are Expected

Again, this is a good idea for those backpacking in groups, however it is absolutely vital if you are backpacking alone. By having an emergency contact who will know that if you are x hours late, there is something wrong, you may well save your own life. If you are knocked out cold, someone will at least know you are missing and alert authorities that you are missing.

3. Stay on Trails

While it’s tempting to go off trail and explore all on your own, the danger of backpacking alone multiplies exponentially when you go off trail. If you stay on a trail and are hurt, someone may find you if you are knocked unconscious and or hurt and without communication (perhaps your radio was damaged when you fell). Going off trail increases the odds that you will never be found.

Swimming With Dolphins in Florida

sun, sea and blue skies, providing people with the reliable weather they need for a spot of outdoor recreation in the theme parks and attractions. Orlando is such a nice location that other attractions soon followed suit with Universal Studios and SeaWorld, but the climate of Florida can be useful for much more than just riding on rollercoasters and finding Mickey Mouse.

One of SeaWorld sister parks, Discovery Cove has gained a lot of popularity over recent years. This is in part to the success of SeaWorld itself and the opening of other such attractions like Aquatica and Busch Gardens. This formula of great weather and unique theme parks has given Discovery Cove this popularity, but what is this marine park all about?

The main selling point of Discovery Cove is the opportunity to swim with dolphins. Although there is more to see such as coral reefs and exotic birds, swimming with dolphins is widely regarded as one of the must-do activities for your lifetime. So what is it about this activity that appears so popular? Why do people flock from half way around the globe to do this?

There is no doubt about it; swimming with dolphins looks incredible if you haven’t done it already. Any dog or cat owner will know that playing with animals can be a rewarding experience and dolphins are no exception. A certain level of empathy can be achieved and due to their intelligence; they can associate themselves with humans quite well. It is no surprise then that it has been scientifically proven that this activity is therapeutic and can help with people suffering from depression.

Let’s not also forget the sensation of being weightless in the water. Swimming alone can be fun, but when with a playful companion, the experience is multiplied. This is something that cannot be achieved by throwing a stick around a park with a dog.

Skin Care in Sunny Countries

come from less sunny countries. Nonetheless, the experience of eco-tourism and other forms of sight-seeing in tropical vacation destinations may be fascinating and memorable. Fortunately, the cruel effect of the blazing sun can be overcome by using umbrellas or wide-brimmed hats and sun blocker (or sunscreen) for protection against the sunlight. Furthermore, there are a wide range of traditional beauty or skin care products available in these sunny countries that have been acknowledged to be effective generation after generation by the people.

In Malaysia, there is a widely used traditional skin acre product called ‘Bedak Sejuk’. By literal translation, it means ‘Cooling Powder’. It is an effective product of skin care to prevent the harmful effect of hot weather.

‘Bedak-sejuk’ or ‘Cooling Powder’ is a traditional beauty product made of rice flour and herbal ingredients. The rice grains is first cleaned and then soaked in clean water together with herbal ingredients for a few days. The container used must be covered with a mesh so as to provide ventilation and at the same time prevent contamination caused by insects and foreign substances. The raw material will go through a series of processing steps and finally, made into rather ‘hemispherical’ tablets of approximately 0.3 inches in diameter.

Cooling powder is applied not only on the face but it can be applied over the whole human body for skin protecting and healing. That’s why it is usually applied immediately after a bath or after face washing. To apply it, one will take a few tablets of cooling powder, place them in the palm and add a few droplets of clean water (preferably cool boiled water boiled on the previous day), soften the tablets into a diluted paste of rice flour and then rub the palms over the target location of the body. Immediately after applying the cooling powder over the body, one will feel the comfort of a cool sensation. One can make a viscous paste of the cooling powder if one is interested to use it as a mask on the face. This is an effective formula to prevent and treat skin problems caused by the intense heat from the hot weather, especially heat rashes. Traditionally, it is applied not only on adults but also on babies!

Some Tips for Care of Kayaks

If  sea kayaking’s your preferred means of water transportation, it’s time to to start getting ready for another season. Even those who never gave it up for the winter should take some time to look things over. Saltwater is harder on equipment than fresh water. You’ll find rust or residue even on a new boat after one season. But first, some advice on storage.

Outfitters and dealers agree: hang your boat under cover by straps (the wider the better) placed around the hull close to the boat’s bulkheads. If there are no bulkheads place the straps a few feet fore and aft of the cockpit. Turn the boat on its side in the straps. Don’t hang it by its carry handles, says Dan Henry of Duck Trap Sea Kayak in Lincolnville. Keep the boat out of sunlight, and if you have a cockpit cover, put it on to keep out bugs and small animals, including your cats.

To begin spring cleaning, put your boat on a couple of sawhorses, bottom side up and inspect the hull for damage or deep scratches. Dings in the fiberglass gel coat can be filled with a gel coat repair kit available at your dealer. Likewise deep scratches in polyethylene hulls can be filled with repair sticks available from your dealer. If damage is more severe, check with your dealer or manufacturer for repair advice. There is a growing number of businesses which are into welding cross link polyethylene.

If you did not store your boat properly and you have a dent in your poly hull, don’t panic. You can fix it by using a controlled heat source such as a hair dryer and a weight. Put the weight inside the boat on top of the dent and heat the outside carefully. Take your time, do not heat one spot for any length of time, and do not overheat the area. Eventually the weight will push the dent out. Let the hull cool for a day with the weight in place.

Walk in the Woods

Saturday mornings we find ourselves walking the trails of Bastrop State Park. This has become our custom for over a year now. Consistently, we have seen groups of boy scouts with their leaders around the lake and families with children walking in the primitive camping area, exploring nature and testing their mettle in a setting beyond the normal creature comforts of home and hearth. And it is good.

Some in these groups have carry binoculars; some spend time overturning rocks. Some concentrate their gaze on the forest canopy; others draw their attention to the forest floor. Pine Warblers calling in early spring and Summer Tanagers in late spring are so noted. Rabbits and Copperheads rustle through the leaves and try to blend into the surroundings hoping that the youth around them will not notice.

It is on these outings that I find myself thinking of my youth when my father brought me my own first pair of binoculars. I’m sure he had no clue as to how that would shape the rest of my life; nor did I.

As adults we should be doing all that’s possible to foster the upcoming generation of birders and conservationists. Many Audubon Groups have stated this as a goal and mission for the next few years.

The Central Texas Audubon Society (CTAS) a couple of years ago purchased almost two dozen binoculars for their youth education programs. CTAS supplemented these with field guides in a one to one ratio. The San Antonio Audubon Society Education Outreach Committee has done similarly, purchasing new Vortex Raptor Binoculars in its efforts to grow young birders.

The Vortex Raptor Binoculars are designed specifically with Young Birders in mind. The lightweight bins have sharp optics, and the eyepieces and binocular body are just right for smaller faces and hands. The field of view is great for locating the bird. Focusing is easy, too.

Guided Outback Group Tours

Guided Outback Tours

When you make the decision to venture into the far reaches of the Australian wilderness you are faced with two options.

Do I go it alone and self-drive? Long hours on roads you don’t know can be intimidating and dangerous, not to mention the cost of wear and tear on your vehicle. You will also find that you are unable to access many regions.

The second option that many people choose is to join a guided group tour. A great alternative because not only will you not have the hassle of driving yourself, you will have someone who knows the country providing answers to your questions. If you decide to go with the organized tour option, then there are a couple of points worth taking into consideration before you pay your deposit.

Small group tours:

When experiencing outback Australia for the first time, you will pass through vast regions of pristine wilderness. I am a strong believer that when you are in an environment like this, you want to feel as though you are the first person to discover it. You want to feel a bit more like Robinson Crusoe, rather than a large mass of people trampling their way through the scrub. The other advantage in selecting a small group tour is that you will almost have the knowledge of your guide all to yourself. And small group means less than 10, by the way.

In fact, there are a number of advantages in going the small group tour option.
